The Weekly Vibe #16

Take the unbeaten path. Our Society has pre-defined courses, programs, curriculums, careers, and choices for us from when we are kids until we retire. How can you distinguish yourself from the millions of people that want to do the same thing as you? Challenge what is deemed as “normal” and you will notice industries and business opportunities with far fewer competitors.

Let go of control and push yourself to be uncomfortable. Comfort can be one of the biggest limiters on your capacity and creativity. We are conditioned to search for comfort and we feel anxious when things are out of our control. We must create practices that continue to push our physical, emotional, and cognitive capacities to be out of our comfort zones. Once you feel “comfortable being uncomfortable” then there is nothing that you will feel you can’t do.

What we learned

Entrepreneurship is a rollercoaster. One day you think you have everything figured out and your vision for the future of your company is clear. The next, you feel impending doubt as though your company could collapse tomorrow.

We have experienced our fair share of ups and downs with The Visionary Entrepreneur and with our other projects. It is difficult to consistently push ourselves each day without an incredible amount of resounding feedback. We have learned that “letting go of control” and not judging our everyday business events as good or bad has led us to more consistency. Ultimately, any business, most fail because they fall victim to the “low” days and don’t achieve consistency.

Try this week: Breath by James Nestor

No matter what you eat, how much you exercise, how skinny or young or wise you are, none of it matters if you’re not breathing properly.

There is nothing more essential to our health and well-being than breathing: take air in, let it out, repeat 25,000 times a day. Yet, as a species, humans have lost the ability to breathe correctly, with grave consequences.

Journalist James Nestor travels the world to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it.

Quote of the Week

“We have all been allotted our share of faith and talent. It is our responsibility to push the boundaries of our own capacity. Escape complacency and liberate yourself from the comfort zone, because in hindsight the familiar ground was far more dangerous the uncharted territory.”
